Med-Cover Zinc Barrier Cream is used to create a protective barrier, particularly in areas prone to irritation from urine and stool, the risk of bed sores, diaper dermatitis, and skin integrity. Its zinc oxide content soothes and protects the skin. When applied around wounds, it prevents maceration.
It is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive, dry, and normal skin types. Its pH-balanced formula reduces the risk of irritation. However, in critically ill patients requiring prolonged hospitalization, such as those receiving third-stage intensive care, applying the zinc oxide cream can be a bit difficult. In these cases, the application of a transparent barrier cream is recommended.
It can be applied 2–3 times a day, every 8–10 hours. The skin should be cleansed and dry before each application.
Zinc oxide forms a protective layer on the skin, preventing moisture from escaping and providing a physical barrier against external factors. It also reduces irritation with its antiseptic and soothing properties.
Med-Cover Extra Intensive Barrier Cream contains 12-20% zinc oxide.
